Mrs. Janet Triner To All Instructors

My name is Janet Triner.
To achieve my dream of becoming a teacher, I attended Augustana College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in education. I later earned a Master's Degree in Education from Aurora College. I began my teaching career as a kindergarten and first grade teacher in the Kaneland District.
In 1980, my husband and I were blessed by God with our first daughter, Jennifer. At that time, I stepped away from teaching to take care of my family. Three years later, God blessed our family again when my daughter Tiffany was born. I thoroughly enjoyed my 9 years as a stay-at-home mom, taking care of my sweet girls.
However, in 1989, when both of my daughters were in elementary school, I returned to teaching. I worked in the Batavia School District, teaching third grade at the same school my girls were attending. I taught in Batavia for 30 years.
Presently, my husband and I live in Batavia. We are beyond blessed to have both of our daughters and our four precious grandchildren living within a few blocks of us. Leaving my job as a public school teacher has allowed me to take an active role in the homeschooling of my four grandchildren, who all have the privilege of attending Heritage. Growing up in a Christian family, placed importance on being an active member of our church. What I love so much about Heritage is the opportunity to blend faith, family, and education together in a safe environment where children and families are able to interact with one another.
I am so excited to be part of the Heritage community and be able to combine my love of teaching with Christian curriculum in order to include our Almighty Lord in our Science lessons.
