Mrs. Katrina Borst To All Instructors

My name is Katrina Borst (I go by Katie). I live in Pingree Grove with my husband, Nick, and our 4 children, Logan, Adelyn, Wyatt, and Carter. I have been homeschooling from the get go. We didn't plan on it, but God had other plans! I went through the public school system and taught in the public school system, but when it was time for our son Logan to begin Kindergarten, we strongly felt called to homeschool. A sweet friend told us about Heritage and we quickly joined. It has been a tremendous blessing finding a strong Christian community right from the start.

I was born and raised in St. Charles, IL and have lived in this area most of my life. I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. It was such a joy for me to serve as a Reading Interventionist in Elgin and to teach Kindergarten in Bartlett, but my true calling to be home with my children and to teach them has been the greatest joy of all.

My hobbies include spending time with family & friends, strength training, and reading. Teaching children how to read is a passion of mine! This coming year, I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach a phonics class, All About Spelling, and a Nature School course.
